Use the diagonal gauges to check for squareness and for parallels, when making cabinetry, drawers and boxes. Comparing diagonals is an important part of assessing the squareness of your work. A try square, even a big one, can be misleading because of its small sample size, and in my experience, the larger ones are ofter not very accurate. With this set of 3 overlapping diagonal gauges you can assess a diagonal or length from 200mm to 1500mm. My gauges can be set to an internal or external length
