Bread Box
Intermediate to advanced
There are lots of ways to make a box. This method uses a frame and panel structure for all four sides and the lid. As such, it is scalable to much larger boxes and chests. I’m calling it a bread box, but it could be used for anything you choose.
I will provide you with dressed stock but otherwise the box will be made almost entirely with hand tools.
There is a lot to learn in this project: planing mitres, grooves and rebates, all with special hand planes. As well as marking out, jointing panels, assembly, hinging the lid and, of course, finishing.
5 full days or 10 x 3 hour classes.
Suitable for beginners but even better for those with some experience.
